Description
For the second time in the series history, audiences were invited to cheer on the Racers at the Starting Line - Venice Beach, California. The teams continued to traverse 34, 000 miles across 10 countries including a first time visit to Zimbabwe. From Rio de Janeiro to Paris, Krakow and Macau, among other destinations, the racers faced various challenges, including: free-fall 200 feet into the Batoka Gorge to swing above the Zambezi River; submerged in a metal cage to feed Nile crocodiles; and learn a musical piece and perform a duet in Krakows Main Square. In an ode to New York City firefighters, upon returning to the United States, a team member donned a firefighters uniform in an ultimate exercise of rescuing a victim from a burning building. The 27th season, which aired in Fall 2015, was the first to see two roadblocks and a detour used in one leg.
