Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande belongs to the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana and is a brilliant original interpreting the gharana legacy. Ashwini is noted for her systematic deployment of musical ideas and the emotional intensity and friendly warmth of her delivery. "Bageshri" conveys an even-tempered romanticism; "Kedar," originally associated with "Shiva," has developed an up-beat and romantic personality; "Jog" has a pensive character imbued with a wistful tenderness.
