Description
In early-'30s Ukraine, farm boy and aspiring painter Yuri (Max Irons) left home to hone his craft in Kiev, leaving behind family and Natalka (Samantha Barks), the neighbor girl he'd loved his whole life. However, as Russia slowly pressed it's dictatorial advantage over the nation-spurring the Holodomor, the government-engineered famine that would kill millions-the embittered young draftsman faced a harrowing trek in order to return to them. Singular historical drama also stars Terence Stamp, Barry Pepper, Tamer Hassan, and Gary Oliver as Stalin. 103 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English.
