Description
This CD is one of the last projects David French, creator of the Frog label, produced. It covers a time span from 1923 to 1928 and is part of the massive output of the giant who nowadays would be termed impresario - Perry Bradford, also musical publicist and director/pianist/songwriter and agent who is credited with the discovery of artists such as Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith and Ida Cox. On this CD, you will hear Perry with his Jazz Phools, Gulf Coast Seven and Original Jazz Hounds including, notably, the track of historical value referring to the years of slavery: 1620 - 1865: "Uncle Eph's Dream."
