Tommy Chase's hard bop band achieved considerable success in the years leading up to the much-heralded UK Jazz boom of the 1980s. As well as drummer Chase the quartet features Alan Barnes (a key figure on the British jazz scene) - alto and tenor saxes; Nick Weldon - piano; Andrew Cleyndert - bass.
