When classical violinist Diadorious Bryant met and married Matilda Genevieve Scaduto, a former elevator operator, their union as Felice and Boudleaux Bryant heralded the dawning of a fairytale songwriting partnership. Beginning in 1946, the husband and wife team kicked off their careers by crafting country songs for the likes of Carl Smith, Red Foley and Little Jimmy Dickens. When the rock & roll revolution began to unfold, Felice and Boudleaux aimed their collective talents, somewhat providentially, in the direction of the hankering teenager. Stuart Colman, a long-time admirer of the Bryant's' work, has selected 25 titles that demonstrate the wide-ranging scope of the couple's song catalog.
