Description
When three fourths of an already active band decides to ditch what they're doing and form something completely different you have to wonder how happy they were in the first place. Fact is, who knows? The point is that Portland, OR's FOREVER certainly seems content now. Formed by Shenna Corbridge (vocals), Jen Nigg (bass and vocals) and Joel Lopez (drums) FOREVER had it's birth in the back of a van while the three were on tour with their former outfit, San Francisco's Me and My Arrow. When invited to jump on another tour immediately the three wanted to go but their bass player had to beg off. So, they asked guitarist Jael Navas (Cottages) if she'd be interested in joining a new project with them. She said yes and FOREVER was born. Married by a mutual love of legendary Los Angelinos X the group found itself having a mere four days to write and rehearse the music that would be performed by FOREVER on it's first US tour. After returning to San Francisco the new foursome decided to keep FOREVER as a fully functional and full time band. A few tours later the band found itself playing the CMJ Music Marathon showcase for Athens, GA's Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records. After returning home, the original three decided to change things up a bit and moved to Portland, OR. Navas, unable to make the move, exited the group but FOREVER quickly found guitarist Bob Desaulniers (The Caldonias) to take her place. And that's the story so far But let's talk about the record. FOREVER does indeed channel a bit of their beloved X but not in any way you could tell without careful listening.
