Editorial Reviews OK, I am biased..., Reviewer: Dennis Hill (see more about me) from Laguna Hills, CA United States I have known Rick for some time, and admired his many abilities for years. His gift for ushering people into the presence of God is undeniable. He has probably written more songs sung in churches every Sunday, than any other songwriter. (Many people would be stunned to hear all the recognizable songs he has written) 'You've Pulled Away the Curtain' and the rest of this CD continue to demonstrate his gift. Give it a listen and you will suddenly find yourself taken beyond the cares of this world, and into His presence. ß ß This CD is Rick's best effort yet., Reviewer: Bryan R. St. Peters from Riverside, CA, USA With the release of his CD project, 'After All,' veteran contemporary Christian songwriter, guitarist, and worship leader Rick Founds has produced an artful blend of new material along with updated versions of his most successful compositions. The title track, 'After All,' showcases everything Rick Founds is known for doing so well: ushering the listener into worship, into the very throne room of God. This new song shows Rick moving into more mature territory, both musically and spiritually. It feels thoughtful, reflective, and the lyrics effectively summarize a life of devotion and worship. Notable among the CD's remakes is Rick's signature song, 'Lord, I Lift Your Name on High,' a ubiquitous anthem throughout the Christian church. Although not an 'unplugged' project, this track comes closest to that sort of intimacy. The composer revisits his song with a slower tempo and straightforward simplicity. All 13 tracks feature Rick's lead vocals, and most include very appealing harmonies and unison contributions by backup vocalists Chariya Bissonette and Cory Briggs. The rhythm section is very understated throughout, with soft and subtle Latin percussion by Alberto Salas and the skillful, expressive guitar talents of Gustavo Eraso. Rick Founds' 'After All' is tastefully constructed with help from some of the best talent in contemporary Christian music, including the venerable Stan Endicott's production, arrangements, and keyboards, along with Wally Grant's engineering and mastering. The liner notes include Rick's song lyrics complete with guitar chords (suitable for church or Bible study worship leaders). While the CD's musical style is one of gentle understatement, it's message of scriptural worship is loud and clear. With these songs of genuine devotional substance, Rick Founds is clearly hitting his stride as a gifted composer, artist, and worship leader.
