He took the smooth, jazz--tinged jump--blues of Texas to California, where he had several rhythm & blues hits from the mid 1940s to the 1960s. Though his name may not be as familiar as B.B. King's, Bobby Bland's, or Ray Charles', Fulson influenced these giants as well as many others. This quintessential collector's edition contains 28 remastered studio tracks, consisting of a variety of the sensational recordings Lowell Fulson made for different labels, like Swing Time, Aladdin, and Chess Records' subsidiary, Checker, between 1952 and 1962.
