Description

Alabama farm worker Dock Reed and his cousin Vera Hall Ward were both recorded by Alan Lomax for the Library of Congress. Dock, by all accounts, was a deeply religious man who never sang secular music, while Vera was known to perform a few of these "sinful" songs.

1. I'm Going Home on the Morning Train 2. My God Ain't No Lying Man 3. Where the Sun Will Never Go Down 4. Troubled Lord I'm Troubled 5. Look How They Done My Lord 6. Job Job 7. What Month Was Jesus Born In? 8. Somebody's Talking About Jesus 9. Death Is Awful 10. I'm Climbing Up the Hill of MT. Zion 11. Low Down the Charriot and Let Me Ride
