Description
Philadelphia-born Rick Hannah is a superb jazz guitarist whose first exposure to jazz was playing with Hank Levy while attending Towson State College (Baltimore). After paying his dues in various Top 40 bands and L.A.'s "Vegas Lounge Circuit," he moved into fusion playing, and toured worldwide with Alphonse Mouzon from 1982-85. He then hooked up with Bunny Brunel, along with personnel such as Tom Brechtlein, Kei Agaki, Dave Garibaldi, and Brian Auger - eventually leaving Mouzon with Auger. While working with Auger on and off for four years, Hannah became increasingly frustrated with fusion, and decided to return to his jazz guitar roots. After a good deal of woodshedding, changing his sound and learning many more tunes, he hooked up with pianist Billy Mitchell and sax player, John Bolivar.
