This collection of 13 sea songs includes both songs sung a cappella and with instrumental accompaniment. Stan Hugill, known as the "Last Working Shantyman," performs with the quartet X-Seamen's Institute and British-born folksinger David Jones. Liner notes include a brief history of the annual America's Cup race, as well as song lyrics, black-and-white illustrations of nautical themes (sailor brawls included!), and a glossary of sailor slang.
