Description
Milt Jackson is one of the great masters of the Jazz vibraphone who built an enormous international reputation working with Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis and staying with the Modern Jazz Quartet through all of their glories from 1952. Milt's vibraphone is opulent and shimmering. One of the most beautiful and distinctive sounds in Jazz. This compilation collects together highpoints through the mid-fifties such as 'Bags Groove' from the legendary Christmas Eve 1954 session with Miles Davis and Thelonius Monk, and historic MJQ recordings from the landmark Baroque and Third Stream phases, all complimented by outstanding Milt solo selections which attest to his mastery. 16 tracks. Fivefour. 2007.
