Arkansas native James McClelland aka "Jesse James" came up during the early 1960's singing in nightclubs in the Bay Area where his family had relocated when he was a child, and recorded a handful of singles for a few local labels, several of which feature Sly Stone's guitar work. He scored his first big hit with the tune "At Last" which entered the top 25 of the R&B charts in 1972. Presented here is his classic big hit "I Can Do Bad By Myself" that became his signature tune.
