Jaqee was born in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The attitude towards life she inherited from the place has become an essential part of her music. When she was barely 13, her family fled to Gothenburg, Sweden, where Jaqee would spend many years making a life and making music. Today her life is centered in Berlin, Germany. Fly High is the title of Jaqee's album, a record that will always keep you good company. Produced 24/7, it's also listenable 24/7. It is inspired by Jaqee's own life - including her two small daughters. There is one statement that stands out particularly from Jaqee's thoughts on her new album. "My voice has taken me to bigger places, and that's out of my control". 'Out of control' - that sounds potentially dangerous too, but turns out to be but one thing again: a single, seamless and natural movement. Only this time, she is flying high.
