Description
Digitally remastered edition of this 1996 album from the late blues guitarist. Blessed Blues was the the (very) long-awaited follow-up to his 1970 debut album Ton Ton Macoute. In 1996, Capricorn Records founder Phil Walden persuaded Jenkins to record this "comeback" album. Backed by a stellar cast of musicians including Chuck Leavell on keyboards (now playing with The Rolling Stones) and The Muscle Shoals percussionist Mickey Buckins. Jenkins was born in Macon Georgia 1939 and was first heard on the radio by Phil Walden in 1959 and began booking his band The Pinetoppers which included the late great Otis Redding on vocals.
