Description

The Kingsnakes - Live At The Old Waldorf June 5, 1981 - A wild and dangerous rock 'n roll band !!! That's what the Kingsnakes are in 1980 San Francisco, part of the local music scene mainly made of punk, new wave and hard rock bands. I never thought the band would last more than 6 months when we first started as we were all about having fun (since there was hardly any money in it at the time). We always got into trouble wherever we went, and let's just say it wasn't just backstage that got trashed !!! Due to our behavior, I remember the band playing at the Palm's caf? and when it was over the manager's words were: "You'll never perform here again!" Two months later, I get a phone call asking for us because of popular demand. Our drummer Danny always said that a band is like an army: "It needs a general, and it's general is ME!" Sometimes, we rebelled and jumped on his drumkit during the last song, and he's stabbing us with his drumsticks while keeping a solid beat ! This album is one of the rare live recordings from that time. That night, we played at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco, a club owned by Bill Graham, opening for Robert Gordon. The performance was recorded by Terry Hammer, the house soundman, just a few months before we supported Chuck Berry in the same venue. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. - A wild and dangerous rock 'n roll band... that's what the Kingsnakes are in 1980 San Francisco, purveyors of punk, new wave and hard rock
