Original 1978 recordings of Konono N?1 and other Congotronics bands, freshly remixed by Martin Meissonnier, the highly-respected French producer who worked with the likes of Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ad?, Don Cherry, Khaled, Manu Dibango & many more. The album comes as a vinyl LP containing the remixes, plus a download code for nearly 2 hours worth of previously-unreleased original recordings made in Kinshasa by Bernard Treton, in 1978, as part of the same sessions which spawned the "Za?re: Musiques Urbaines ? Kinshasa" which was released by the Ocora label. Featuring Konono N?1, Sankayi (which was to become one of the components of the Kasai Allstars collective), Orchestre Bana Luya (also featuring future Kasai Allstars members) and the accordion-led music of Orchestre Bambala.
