2017 collection. Los Tucanes de Tijuana is a Mexican band founded on April 13, 1987, by Mario Quintero Lara and a group of friends in the City of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The members began their musical career by playing in nightclubs. They are by far the global ambassadors of Norte?a music and Narcocorrido ballads (Drug-praising ballads). Their fast paced and energizing music has attracted the attention of the Ministry of Tourism for the Republic of Mexico which, through it's advertising agency, asked Mario Quintero Lara to pen a song to promote tourism in Mexico. They are also the first Regional Mexican Norte?o band to win an international film award receiving an Angel Film Award at the Monaco International Film Festival in November 2007 for a musical documentary.
