Mahogany Frog is an instrumental band, comprised of four multi-instrumentalists and based out of Winnipeg, Canada. Their music draws from a wide range of influences such as early 20th century classical music, 50's lounge/exotica, '60s psychedelia, '70s progressive/kraut-rock, fusion, contemporary electronica and ambient/experimentalism. Using a vast array of keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and walls of electronics, the group creates dynamic, multilayered songs which explore tone, mood and composition. Although Mahogany Frog's unorthodox sounds and complex arrangements can challenge the listener, their haunting progressions and playful melodies are immediately catchy and satisfying."Senna by Mahogany Frog" is the group's sixth full-length release. Lush with soaring synth-scapes, waves of blistering guitar feedback and sound-art segments consisting of field recordings, tape collage and analogue electronically-generated sounds, it is easily their heaviest and most challenging record to date.
