Manteca Ritmo Y Sabor CD

Lazaro Pla, better known as Manteca, was a master "bongonsero" who first rose to fame in 1940's Cuba, when he was a featured attraction with the great pianist and composer Ernest Lecouna. Although Manteca is found on many recordings from Cuba, there is very little material that features him as a soloist or leading his own small band. This collection features recordings that have been out of print for years, many of which have been used voraciously on the DJ circuit.
