One of the early pioneers of jump blues, pianist Memphis Slim was one of the most influential bluesmen of all time. His songs, written as Peter Chatman, have been covered by artists as far ranging as Jimi Hendrix, Ella Fitzgerald, B.B. King, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughn and hundreds of others. Included here is the Leiber and Stoller hit, "Kansas City" and several Slim originals including "Mother Earth," "The Comeback" and "Next Time You See Me". Classic recordings, digitally remastered.
