Mike,Allen Fearless CD

Fearless was recorded in 2004 at Factory Studio in Vancouver, BC, engineered and mixed by Shawn Pierce, and funded by Canada Council for the Arts. The personnel on the recording includes: saxophonist Mike Allen, pianist George McFetridge, bassists Paul Rushka (all tracks except 5 and 7) and Adam Thomas (tracks 5 and 7), and drummer Julian MacDonough. For five years previous to the recording of Fearless, Mike's primary touring and recording band was the classic saxophone trio formation of sax, bass and drums ('Dialectic' 2003 and 'Change Is' 2000). With the addition of featured pianist George McFetridge on Fearless, the new band possessed the right mix to tackle Mike's new compositions The Man, John Robbins, From A Different Angle, Sonny Greenwich's Let Your Heart Sing and the title track Fearless. Despite continued personnel changes since Fearless was recorded, the band's expressive character remains largely intact and is a product of the experience of recording this music.
