Morgera,Fabio Ctrl Z CD

If we compare this record to the previous "Neapolitan Heart" and "Live at the Loft_01", we might say that Fabio Morgera has put into practice, and within a very short time, a famous phrase of Miles Davis: "I have to change. It's like a curse." There seems to be no link between the standards of "Live at the Loft_01", the modern arrangements of "Neapolitan Heart," both recorded in 2009, and the music of "Ctrl Z", perhaps the work that better highlights the performing and band leading qualities of the Neapolitan composer... He is in fact Neapolitan by birth but naturalized American (in any case he recently moved back to Florence, a city where he made his first steps as a musician before leaving for the US in 1985). In fact, the origins of "Ctrl Z" are to be found per- haps in his experiences with Groove Collective, a New York "jam-band" that since the early 90s has utilized a mixture of Hip-Hop-Bebop-Latin-Funk and more, and then certainly in the five years spent in the ranks of the Nublu Orchestra, another contemporary multi-genre entity directed by Lawrence "Butch" Morris (1947- 2013) the originator of Conduction. At the club Nublu and on tour, Morgera treasured the teachings of Morris, to the point of conceiving his own version of Conduction, supported from the out set by the master, "Butch."
