Description

Frank Munn was born to a working class family in 1894. Growing up in New York, young Frank was blessed with a fine voice and sang at live concerts and on local radio. By the early 1920's he also began making phonograph records to assist his income as a laborer. In 1928 Munn was offered a lucrative spot on "The Palmolive Hour" a network radio show sponsored by the popular soap-maker- making radio his exclusive career. He soon became the star of two other network shows; "The American Album of Familiar Music" and "Waltz Time" both of which entertained the public throughout the Great Depression and World War II, making him one of the favorite tenors on radio until his retirement in 1945.
