Having worked with such illustrious names as Chaka Khan, Nona Hendryx, Maxwell and Salif Keita singer and composer M. Nahadr is poised to step into a spotlight of her own with her aptly titled new album EclecticIsM. Co-produced by Grammy Award winner James P. Nichols, the album is a stunning vehicle for M. 's impressive multi-octave range, which she pushes to extremes on cuts like the funk-laden "Getting Up from Down Under," the drum-n-bass fugue "Trip" and the very personal ballad "Blue Morning Sunday. " with jazz and electronic improv as her guiding muses (working with members of the free jazz cooperative Test), M. describes a transcendent arc of love and faith, tempered with the strength, swagger and power of straight-up diva soul.
