Description

'Nelson Super Project was formed in 1998 when nine musicians who had come together to work as the backing band for Tatsuro Yamashita 's live tour 'Performance '98-'99' hit it off. Although they focused on live performances, they produced an album in 2002, which was eventually released through the official website of member Yasuhiro Mitani. The project name 'Nelson' is taken from the Dominican-born actor Nelson de la Rosa, who has dwarfism. This comes from an episode in which band member Kumi Sasaki mentioned 'the world's smallest man, Nelson,' whom she had seen on TV while on tour. The conversation became a huge hit among the band members, and this incident strengthened the band's bond. He also participated in Mariya Takeuchi 's first concert in 18 years in 2000 (with the same members plus bandmaster Tatsuro Yamashita), and has a deep connection with the Yamashita-Takeuchi couple. In 2008, she released her second album from Universal Music, along with a deluxe edition of her first album.
