Best charts the journey of New Celeste - a band that has stood apart from the crowd and kept abreast of a changing musical climate throughout almost 30 years. Which brings US up to date - almost. In fact, Best adds to the story, with new material on a new label. Park Records had included a couple of earlier recordings on a 1996 compilation the Best of British Folk Rock. The prospect of releasing Best spurred on the completion of some unfinished material - the Pool and Copper & Gold, specially recorded (as well as the new version of Rosemary) for this CD.
