Description

In an era when European artists invariably found it tough trying to break into the UK mainstream, Danish duo NINA AND FREDERIK were an exception. They enjoyed huge popularity from the late 50s, continuing throughout the 1960s (including an appearance on the 1961 "Royal Variety Performance") and at one point hosted their own UK TV show. They sold hundreds of thousands of EPs, LPs, and singles in Britain, over and above their millions of sales in Europe and worldwide. This is the companion to two earlier Nina & Frederik CDs issued on Jasmine, "Listen To The Ocean" (JASCD373) and "Sippin' Cider" (JASCD 383), and is complementary to both. It features stereo versions of several sides which appeared in mono on those earlier sets, alongside tracks which are new to Jasmine, notably sides sung in Danish and German, which were not issued in the UK at the time.
