R/A/D is a musical encounter born from a stroke of serendipity. It all began when Brisa Roché, captivated by a live performance from Nicolas Laureau (Don Niño, NLF3, Prohibition), reached out to him. Their creative chemistry sparked a duo where Brisa's magnetic voice elevates Nicolas's minimalist, drone-infused compositions. Together, they explore a bold, free-spirited sound that blends spoken word, poetic blues, no wave, and experimental pop - a mix they describe as "fire and ice." Their collaboration is driven by a shared desire to surprise themselves and take pleasure in the process. The result is a sound that's both raw and refined, evoking the likes of Loren Connors, Throbbing Gristle, Nick Cave, WovenHand, and Karen Dalton, with the adventurous spirit of the Prohibited label echoing throughout.
