Description
Companion release to the Radio Raul's documentary project from Gold Alchemy, this sixteen-song compilation features hard hitting punk from the heyday of Raul's in Austin, TX. Many of the bands on this album went on to become staples of the Austin music community, including Jon Dee Graham (Skunks) and Joe King Carrasco. Revisiting that era (1978-1985) through the Radio Raul's documentary, Tom Huckabee (Taking Tiger Mountain, Carried Away) explores the shifting cultural landscape that birthed punk in Texas and the little club that became a safe haven for that community to thrive. Framed as a radio program and narrated by The Reverend. Neil X (Neil Ruttenberg), this limited edition black cassette is the perfect jumping point for Austin punk.
