On this release, we pay homage to two great bastions of Soul - Shelby Singleton's colossus SSS International and the motion picture subsidiary GSF Music Corp. Both labels issued a heady mix of deep, sweet Funk and classic Soul. It's not just the 'heavenly' output of the labels that link them together, they both originate from New York although SSS had moved operations to Nashville in 1968, some four years before the GSF imprint emerged. 20 tracks.
