During World War II band leader Ambrose signed up Anne Shelton as a replacement for forces sweetheart Vera Lynn who was leaving the band. Anne was to help Ambrose to achieve many of the chart entries they achieved during the 1940s. During the 1950s Anne made a number of albums with the great Wally Stott Orchestra, two of which are featured on this CD.
