New Breed R&B is a very broad church and 'Sinner Not a Saint' is the perfect sound even if it was cut by the unheralded (in black music circles) Trini Lopez. The flip is the original of a currently reactivated Northern Soul stormer by Jackie Payne that was written by Johnny Copeland, recorded for Modern but has only ever been out on CD or LP until now.
