He appears on several Capri releases, including Keith Oxman's last two CDs and Nat Yarbrough's Trio CD from 2006. Chip Stephens is an anxious, energetic, and uncommonly talented pianist and composer. Holding on to What Counts is his first release for Capri and it displays an impressive command of a widely varied palette of compositional and improvisational styles.
