In Survivor: Kaoh Rong, a second potential power is revealed with the hidden immunity idol: It can be used with another idol, as the two can physically be pieced together, forming a super idol. The newfound power can be played not just after the votes are cast, but also after they are read, therefore acting as a safety net, saving a person who has been voted out. The drama is heightened as only those who find the hidden idols will know about their power. This season also marks a new twist: The finalists competed in a challenge with the winner having the first-ever opportunity to vote someone out of the jury.
