Description
John Neumeier's ballet Tatiana is about a young girl who grows up in the Russian countryside, and falls for her first great love. The work was commissioned by The Hamburg Ballet, and was premiered in June of 2014. With music by Lera Auerbach, this ballet is "three hours of danced poetry." (Hamburger Morgenpost.) The story loosely follows Alexander Pushkin's verse-novel "Eugene Onegin," which was published in 1833. Also included in this video is an exclusive interview with John Neumeier on the work. "Nearly nobody else besides John Neumeier can tell story with the bodies of his dancers." (Hamburger Morgenpost)
