Description
2007 release, a real Brazilian treat from the early '60's - we have the sole self-titled album from legendary lyricist Mario Telles. Mario released only this single LP in his entire career, (though he was an honored guest performer on other artist's albums) and it is a very rare album with arrangements and orchestration by Moacir Santos, Astor Silva and the amazing Baden Powell (guitar and also arrangements). This LP also contains the very first recordings of Nana, Berimbau and many songs which became standards of the rising Bossa Nova style. Brother of Sylvia Telles, the diva of the early Bossa Nova scene, who died tragically young, Mario remains a major cultural mover and shaker in Brazil to this day.
