The Soul Queen from New Orleans? extremely rare but legendary album produced by the equally legendary Jerry Williams Jr. (aka Swamp Dogg) in 1970 during a period that Swamp Dogg?s creative talents were at their peak. To quote Irma: ?He was one weird dude, but he knew how to take care of business.÷ Swamp played piano, sang background vocals and wrote all but one song. The album finally came out in 1973 but never got the distribution it deserved. Today it is considered a soul classic and one of Irma?s most unique albums. Recorded in Macon, Georgia, the late great Duane Allman plays guitar on 3 tracks (?You?re The Dog,÷ ?Coming From Behind÷ and ?Wish Someone Would Care÷). All selections have been newly remastered.
