Three years ago Comatose Music presented the world with an enticing two track EP of rigorous brutal death metal. This briefly battering release was called 'The Limb Collector' and it was the first taste of an internationally assembled cadre of accomplished musicians, operating under the name TORTURED. Since then the metal underground has been waiting hungrily for more from this destructive unit whose enormous potential for mass bloodshed was so readily apparent. Now, the interminable silence has finally been broken and TORTURED have returned, armed with a full length album of staggering, malignant power... 'Genetically Engineered Monstrosity'! TORTURED have clearly not been idle during those intervening years, because 'Genetically Engineered Monstrosity' utterly outstrips all the promise presented by 'The Limb Collector'. The band's tools of torment have been sharpened to fiendish levels of cruelty and the sheer force with which hideous hymns like "Human Bait" are delivered, is breathtaking. With this unbelievable debut album TORTURED have defined the essence of brutal death metal. This is what the genre is meant to sound like. Thrilling, crushing, intimidating... as the hammer blows of "Boiled to Death" and "Barbaric Impalement" rain down you'll either be crying in a corner, begging for it to stop, or smiling in rapture as the perfect payload of putrefaction hits you right between the eyes.
