Jerry Jeff Walker, an American country and folk singer-songwriter, was a prominent figure in progressive and outlaw country music. Known for "Mr. Bojangles," his 1969 album "Five Years Gone" showcases a forward-looking blend of folk and folk-rock with poetic lyrics reminiscent of Bob Dylan.
