Description
Director Ken Russell's moving adaptation of the D.H. Lawrence's novel is set in 1920s England and chronicles the complicated romantic lives of artist Gudrun Brangwen (Glenda Jackson, who won a Best Actress Oscar) and her sister, schoolmistress Ursula (Jennie Linden). The siblings' bond and how each views the nature of love are explored in relation to the men they marry, industrialist Gerald Crich (Oliver Reed) and inspector Rupert Birkin (Alan Bates).
